Bluebird Montessori is dedicated to guiding and nurturing each child as an individual. By implementing Montessori curriculum and methodology, we encourage self-directed learning and flexible thinking. We provide an environment that fosters a sense of wonder and instills a love of self, others, community, and the world.

Bluebird Montessori provides a small and supportive environment for children ages approximately 3-6 years old. The program is founded on Montessori principles that support hands-on learning, self discovery, cooperation, and respect. Our aim is to inspire a love of learning in all of its students.

Meet the Teacher

My name is Leah Walsh and I am the founder and head teacher at Bluebird Montessori. I live here in Delmar, NY with my husband, our two children, two cats, and a handful of chickens. I completed my Montessori training at Northeast Montessori Institute and am a certified teacher through the American Montessori Society (AMS). I have a background in visual and performing arts and hold a BA from Bennington College. I am also passionate about handcrafting classroom materials and love to inspire other educators to do the same. I have presented workshops titled “Crafting Your Classroom” at the national AMS conference in Chicago and at the CMS regional conference in Cincinnati.
