Meet the Teacher

My name is Leah Walsh and I am the founder and head teacher at Bluebird Montessori. I live here in Delmar, NY with my husband, Matt and our two daughters, Eleanor and Frances. I completed my Montessori training at Northeast Montessori Institute and am a certified teacher through the American Montessori Society (AMS). I have a background in visual and performing arts and hold a BA from Bennington College. In March 2016, I presented a workshop titled “Crafting Your Classroom” at the national AMS conference in Chicago. I spoke to fellow Montessorians about my passion for handcrafting classroom materials in hopes to inspire other teachers to do the same. I am a member of the Montessori Alliance of the Capital Region.
